Welcome to our PreK One Classroom! Our program offers an engaging and enriching environment designed to prepare children aged 36-48 months for kindergarten and beyond. We focus on fostering independence, critical thinking, social-emotional development, and foundational academic skills through hands-on learning experiences and structured activities.

Classroom Setup: Our classroom is thoughtfully organized to provide a balance of learning centers, play areas, and quiet spaces for children to explore, create, and learn. We offer age-appropriate materials, manipulatives, and educational resources to support children’s cognitive, physical, and social development. The classroom environment promotes collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity, with designated areas for literacy, math, science, art, dramatic play, and sensory exploration.

Daily Schedule: Our daily routine follows a predictable structure that provides a balance of teacher-led instruction, small group activities, individual exploration, and outdoor play. We incorporate a variety of learning experiences, including circle time, interactive read-alouds, hands-on math and science activities, art projects, music and movement, and free play. Transition times are supported with visual schedules and verbal cues to help children navigate their day with confidence and independence.

Curriculum and Learning Goals: Our D.E.S.E. approved curriculum, High/Scope, is aligned with early learning standards and is designed to promote school readiness in all areas of development. We focus on fostering language and literacy skills, numeracy concepts, scientific inquiry, social studies concepts, creative expression, and physical coordination. Learning experiences are child-centered, inquiry-based, and designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of each child in our care.

Teacher-Child Interaction: Our dedicated and experienced educators engage with children in meaningful interactions, providing guidance, encouragement, and support as they explore and learn. Teachers scaffold learning experiences, ask open-ended questions, and encourage children to think critically, communicate effectively, and solve problems independently. Positive relationships, clear expectations, and mutual respect form the foundation of our classroom community.

Parent Involvement and Communication: We value collaboration between parents and educators and strive to maintain open lines of communication. We provide regular updates on children’s progress, achievements, and classroom activities through newsletters, parent-teacher conferences, and digital platforms. We encourage parents to be active participants in their child’s learning journey by volunteering in the classroom, attending special events, and supporting learning activities at home.

Health and Safety Practices: We prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of all children in our care. Our classroom environment is clean, organized, and equipped with age-appropriate safety measures. Teachers model and reinforce healthy habits, including handwashing, proper hygiene, and respectful interactions. We have clear policies and procedures in place for illness management, emergency preparedness, and safety protocols to ensure a secure and nurturing environment for children to thrive.

Our PreK One Classroom is dedicated to providing a supportive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment where children can explore, discover, and grow to their fullest potential. We celebrate each child’s unique strengths, interests, and contributions, fostering a love of learning and laying the foundation for future success in school and beyond.
