Welcome to our PreK Two Classroom! Our program offers an engaging and enriching environment designed to prepare children aged 48-60+ months for kindergarten and beyond. We focus on fostering independence, critical thinking, social-emotional development, and advanced academic skills through hands-on learning experiences and structured activities.

Classroom Setup: Our classroom is thoughtfully organized to provide a stimulating and diverse learning environment that supports children’s growth and development across multiple domains. We offer a variety of learning centers, including literacy, math, science, art, dramatic play, sensory exploration, and construction, to promote inquiry, creativity, and exploration. The classroom environment encourages collaboration, problem-solving, and decision-making, with materials and resources accessible to children at their level.

Daily Schedule: Our daily routine follows a structured schedule that balances teacher-led instruction, small group activities, independent exploration, and outdoor play. We incorporate a range of learning experiences, including interactive circle time, guided reading, math manipulatives, science experiments, art projects, music and movement, and dramatic play. Children have opportunities to engage in both child-initiated and teacher-directed activities, fostering independence, self-regulation, and a love of learning.

Curriculum and Learning Goals: Our D.E.S.E approved curriculum, High/Scope, is aligned with kindergarten readiness standards and is designed to build upon children’s prior knowledge and experiences. We focus on developing advanced literacy skills, mathematical concepts, scientific inquiry, social studies knowledge, creative expression, and physical coordination. Learning experiences are inquiry-based, hands-on, and integrated across subject areas to promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Teacher-Child Interaction: Our dedicated and experienced educators engage with children in meaningful interactions, providing guidance, support, and encouragement as they explore and learn. Teachers facilitate learning experiences that are responsive to children’s interests, abilities, and developmental needs, scaffolding learning and challenging children to extend their thinking and skills. Positive relationships, clear expectations, and mutual respect form the foundation of our classroom community.

Parent Involvement and Communication: We value collaboration between parents and educators and strive to maintain open lines of communication. We provide regular updates on children’s progress, achievements, and classroom activities through newsletters, parent-teacher conferences, and digital platforms. We encourage parents to be active participants in their child’s learning journey by volunteering in the classroom, attending special events, and supporting learning activities at home.

Health and Safety Practices: We prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of all children in our care. Our classroom environment is clean, organized, and equipped with age-appropriate safety measures. Teachers model and reinforce healthy habits, including handwashing, proper hygiene, and respectful interactions. We have clear policies and procedures in place for illness management, emergency preparedness, and safety protocols to ensure a secure and nurturing environment for children to thrive.

Our PreK Two Classroom is dedicated to providing a supportive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment where children can explore, discover, and grow to their fullest potential. We celebrate each child’s unique strengths, interests, and contributions, fostering a love of learning and preparing them for success in kindergarten and beyond.
